I want to thank everyone who was able to attend our campaign kickoff. I also want to thank everyone who has lent their early support to our effort. Our campaign is gaining momentum and we are increasing our team every week.

As you all may know, the election for FCRC Chairman will take place at the FCRC Convention tentatively scheduled for Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 10:00am at West Springfield High School. Any registered voter who lives in Fairfax County is eligible to vote. You do not have to be a member of the FCRC. However, you must be present to vote. There will be no absentee balloting or voting by proxy so please save the date.

If you have not done so, would you please take a moment to indicate your interest in attending the FCRC Convention? I would also greatly appreciate your endorsement. We will let you all know the procedure to properly file as a delegate to the FCRC Convention once the rules are finalized.

McConville for FCRC Chairman Campaign Kickoff a Huge Success
Jay McConville begins campaign to be next Fairfax County Republican Committee Chairman on a high note at Army Navy Country Club

Fairfax, VA, January 6, 2012 – Local business and community leader Jay McConville kicked off his campaign to be the next Fairfax County Republican Committee (FCRC) Chairman to a packed house Friday night at the Army Navy Country Club in Fairfax. Approximately seventy-five attendees, including event host Delegate Barbara Comstock, listened as Mr. McConville laid out his vision for Republican success in Fairfax County.

“Live boldly, live a whole life,” were the opening words to McConville’s kickoff remarks, words and lessons he learned from his close friend Tony Snow, former White House Press Secretary, writer, and television personality, who passed away in 2008. “I am ready to take this challenge on because I share with you the conviction that we must do whatever we can to literally save our nation, it is that important,” said McConville, as he described his plan to motivate and organize the county’s Republicans and achieve victories in 2012 and beyond.

The FCRC will select a new Chairman to replace Anthony Bedell, who is stepping down after two terms, at a convention to be held on March 24th at West Springfield High School. Convention delegates must pre-register and be in attendance at the convention to support their candidate. Convention information is available at www.gojay.org and the FCRC’s website (www.fairfaxgop.com).

Jay McConville is a combat veteran, businessman, and community leader who ran for the Virginia House of Delegates in the 44thDistrict (Mount Vernon) in 2009. Since then he has served as the FCRC’s Vice Chairman for Budget and Finance. He is a former manufacturing CEO who serves on the Mt. Vernon-Lee Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, is the former President of the Ft. Hunt Youth Athletic Association, is current President of his industry association’s DC Chapter, and is an active member of the Mt. Vernon community. He is also an Ironman Triathlete, having completed the Coeur d’ Alene Ironman in 2008, and a musician, playing in the local band Close2Home, and formerly with Tony Snow’s band Beats Workin’.

Mr. McConville has been married to Sue McConville for 26 years and they have three children, Katelyn (15), Colin (19), and James Robert (21).
